“Do not be rash with your mouth, And let not your heart utter anything hastily before God. For God is in heaven, and you on earth; Therefore let your words be few… Do not let your mouth cause your flesh to sin, nor say before the messenger of God that it was an error… But fear God.” – ECCLESIASTES 5:2,6-7
Devotion
Know this. God has no desire for nasty consequences to befall you when you speak the wrong things in haste or in error. It is the intrinsic power of those negative words that calls forth all those negative things to you (Matt 12:34-35). The fear of God will guard your lips from saying things that you will soon regret- it is truly our cure for loose speech.
