Daily Verse
“The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate…The highway of the upright is to depart from evil; He who keeps his way preserves his soul. Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.” – PROVERBS 8:13; 16:17-18
Devotion
The fear of the Lord is the highway of the upright. On this highway there will not be any stumbling blocks to hinder you nor will you encounter bitter defeat. Pride will never be found on this highway and therefore downfall will not be in the lot of the righteous. The godly will govern their tongues with all diligence. This is the only sure way to avoid falling into boastful pride and destruction (Prov 13:3).
