Daily Verse

“‘If one of your brethren becomes poor, and falls into poverty among you…Take no usury or interest from him; but fear your God, that your brother may live with you. You shall not lend him your money for usury, nor lend him your food at a profit. I am the LORD your God…” – LEVITICUS 25:35-38

Devotion

Do you display compassion by reaching out to your brethren in Christ who are downtrodden? Do you show mercy to the poor around you? Indeed, the body of Christ must tend to the less fortunate and show the benevolence of God the Father. Do not exploit the less fortunate through charging usury or speaking harsh words. When you lend to the needy brethren, you will inherit the blessing of Proverbs 19:17.
