Honesty comes from the partnership of truth and wisdom

Honesty is a practical expression of truth and an outward operation of the fear of the Lord. It is also a hallmark of wisdom (Prov 1:3), for the wise know that while honesty may not always pay, dishonesty will always cost. The new creature in Christ must put off the practice of lying (Col 3:9) because every false word will be judged in the day of judgment
(Matt 12:36-37). Cling onto the promise of Proverbs 12:22, knowing that your honesty pleases God. (Prov 11:1)
