Daily Verse

“But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die… if the thing does not happen or come to pass… which the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.” – DEUTERONOMY 18:20, 22

Devotion

No prophet should ever misuse the phrase “Thus says the Lord”, for if it is done so in jest and the prophecy given does not materialise, that prophet will lose credibility and favour with his followers. We should prohibit the habit of saying “God said…” or “God told me…” in vain as it is in violation of the third commandment (Ex 20:7). Therefore do not be flippant with whatever proceeds out of your mouth, for you will be held accountable for it in the day of judgment.
