Serving God entails a hefty price tag. Let us consider the example of Nehemiah. Will you choose to follow God as Nehemiah did, or adopt the perverted ways of the other Hebrew rulers and nobles (Neh 5:7-10, 15)? Nehemiah chose to forgo financial gain while other landlords profiteered through usury. Are you willing to sacrifice monetary gain in order that God’s will be done?
