“Now it happened afterward that David’s heart troubled him because he had cut Saul’s robe. And he said to his men, “The Lord forbid that I should do this thing to my master, the Lord’s anointed, to stretch out my hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the Lord.” – 1 SAMUEL 24:5-6
Devotion
David was the beloved of God and was called the one after God’s own heart. How can we be like David? You need to first set your priorities right. To know what your priorities in life are, simply taste the honey of the fear of the Lord. It will make you wise and you will then know the true priority of life (Prov 24:13, 14, 21). His fear will soften your heart. It will mellow down your restless heart and make you tender hearted towards God like David. The moment holiness abides in your hearts; you will be most willing to be fully surrendered to do His perfect will whole heartedly. A man who fears God is a man whose body, soul and spirit are fully yielded before the Lord his God.
